INTAYON ILOCOS SUR!


The Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival is one of the most colorful and meaningful celebration in Ilocos Sur. This festival shows the unity of the people, because the word “Intayon” means “let us go together.” It is being celebrated to promote culture, tourism, and also to honor the history of the province. Many visitors comes from different places just to watch and experience the events.
During the festival, there are many activities like street dancing, cultural shows, and food fairs. The dancers wear bright and traditional costumes which represents the Ilocano heritage. There is also parade where different towns shows their own identity and traditions. Sometimes the weather is very hot but the people still continue to celebrate happily.


Another important part of the festival is the showcasing of local products. You can see handmade crafts, local foods like empanada and longganisa, and other products that shows the skills of Ilocano people. This helps small businesses because many tourist buy their products during the celebration.


Overall, the Intayon Festival is not just a celebration but also a reminder of unity, pride, and culture. It helps the younger generation to understand their roots even if sometimes they don’t realize its importance. The festival truly shows that when people work together, they can make a strong and joyful community.
